What does a carer do?

Carers support people in their own homes to live safely and comfortably. Every day can be a little different. You might help someone get ready in the morning, prepare a meal, offer companionship, or help them with medication.

But being a carer is more than just practical support. You might spend time chatting with a customer over a cup of tea, helping them enjoy their hobbies, or simply being there so they don’t feel lonely. Carers often notice the little things that make a big difference, remembering a favourite snack, celebrating birthdays, or encouraging a customer to try something new.

Some days are busy, some are calm, but all of them matter. You’ll often work alongside family members, healthcare professionals, or other carers to ensure the best support for your customer. Your role is flexible and varied, and no two days are ever exactly the same.

Do I need experience?

Not at all! Many of our carers had never worked in care before joining us. What’s more important is your attitude, being reliable, caring, and respectful. We provide full training and support, so you’ll never feel like you’re on your own.
