Local Authority Funding (Social Care Support)

If your savings and assets are below £23,250, you may be eligible for support from your local council.

Needs Assessment – Request a free care needs assessment from your local authority.
Financial Assessment – If your needs qualify, a financial assessment will determine your eligibility for funding.
Direct Payments – You may receive funding directly to arrange care with a provider like Fuchsia Homecare.

Tip: Even if you’re above the financial threshold, you may still be eligible for support planning or partial funding.

Attendance Allowance (Age 66+)

If you are over State Pension age and need help with personal care, you may be entitled to Attendance Allowance, a non-means-tested benefit that can help cover home care costs.

Lower rate: £72.65 per week (if you need help during the day OR night)
Higher rate: £108.55 per week (if you need help during both)
Direct Payments – You may receive funding directly to arrange care with a provider like Fuchsia Homecare.

You can still qualify even if you don’t currently receive care — what matters is the need.

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) (Ages 16 to State Pension Age)

This option is typically for individuals with long-term, complex medical needs.
