The Bury St Edmunds Food & Drink Festival returns to the town centre on Sunday 30 and Bank Holiday Monday 31 August. The free event brings food, drink and entertainment to areas including Cornhill, the Buttermarket, Angel Hill and the arc Shopping Centre.

Visitors can browse food and drink stalls featuring flavours from 16 different countries, discover local Suffolk produce, visit the Farmers’ Market and watch live cookery demonstrations at the Chefs on Stage Cookery Theatre.

There is plenty for families too, including children’s activities, magic workshops, face painting, balloon modelling and fairground rides.

If you’re looking for a relaxed Bank Holiday day out with plenty to see, taste and enjoy, Bury St Edmunds could be a great choice.

🌍 One Big Multicultural Festival – Ipswich

If you’re staying closer to home, One Big Multicultural Festival is taking place at Alexandra Park in Ipswich on Sunday 30 August.

Returning for its 14th year, the festival celebrates the many different cultures and communities that make Ipswich and Suffolk such a diverse place to live.

The free, family-friendly afternoon will feature live music and dance, international food, cultural activities, community stalls and plenty of entertainment. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as Kabaddi, face painting, henna art and children’s funfair attractions.

It’s a lovely opportunity to enjoy something different while celebrating the cultures and communities that make our local area so special.

🎶 Suffolk Summerfest – Framlingham

When: Saturday 29 August – Sunday 30 August

For those looking for a weekend of live music and entertainment, Suffolk Summerfest is returning to Framlingham College over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The 2026 line-up includes Pixie Lott on Saturday and Scouting For Girls on Sunday, alongside acts including Alison Limerick, Phats & Small, Liberty X, Rozalla and Amelle from the Sugababes.

There’s more than just music, too. Festivalgoers can enjoy street food, cookery demonstrations, funfair rides, wrestling, circus performances, magic shows and family entertainment.

With the festival running from 11.30am to 8.30pm on both days, it could be a great option for anyone wanting to make a full day of the Bank Holiday weekend.

🎨 Woodbridge Festival of Art & Music

Woodbridge is also getting into the Bank Holiday spirit with the Woodbridge Festival of Art & Music.

The festival’s 15th annual flagship event takes place at Elmhurst Park on Sunday 30 August, bringing together live music, art, food, workshops and eco activities.

The 2026 event includes performances from Faze Action and legendary soul singer Geno Washington, alongside DJs, local food and creative activities. Visitors can also take part in arts and eco workshops, including pottery, textiles and Spin Art.

It’s a great choice if you’re looking for something a little different, combining music, creativity and community in one event.
