Fundraiser for Dementia – A Wonderful Day to Remember!
On 8th May, we held a fundraiser in support of Dementia UK, and honestly, it turned out to be such a lovely and successful day for everyone involved!
Why Dementia Awareness Matters
As a care company, dementia is something very close to our hearts. Many families across the UK are affected by dementia every single day, and it is currently estimated that around one million people in the UK are living with the condition. Dementia doesn’t just affect memory, it can also affect communication, confidence, mood, and daily life. It can be incredibly difficult not only for the person living with dementia, but also for their loved ones and carers.
Supporting Families Through Dementia UK
That’s why raising money for charities like Dementia UK is so important. Their specialist dementia nurses provide advice and support to families when they need it most, helping people feel less alone during what can be a very overwhelming time.
Cakes, Sweet Treats, and Team Spirit 🍰
We wanted our fundraiser to be something fun that brought everyone together, and it really did. Our office staff and carers all got involved by bringing in cakes, sweet treats, and snacks, and the amount of effort everyone put in was amazing. There was so much laughter throughout the day and such a lovely atmosphere in the office.
Bingo, Quizzes, and Brilliant Prizes 🎉
We played bingo, held dementia quizzes, and had some brilliant prizes to be won, which definitely brought out everyone’s competitive side! The quizzes were also a great way to raise awareness and get people talking more openly about dementia and the challenges people face.

One thing that really stood out was how much everyone supported each other and got involved. Days like this remind us how important teamwork and community are, especially when raising money for causes that genuinely make a difference to people’s lives.
We are so grateful to everybody who donated, baked cakes, joined in the games, and helped make the fundraiser a success. It was a day full of fun, kindness, and support for a cause that means so much to all of us at Fuchsia Homecare. 💜
