Breast Cancer Fundraiser: A Day of Pink, Fun & Fundraising

Last Friday, we swapped our usual day at Fuchsia Homecare for a day filled with pink, laughter, good company and fundraising as we came together for our Breast Cancer Now Fundraiser.

It was such a lovely day, and we honestly had so much fun! From getting involved in the different activities to enjoying some fantastic prizes, there was always something going on. Most importantly, it was wonderful to see so many people getting involved and supporting such an important cause.

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came along, donated, joined in and helped make the day so special. Every donation, big or small, helped us raise money and awareness for breast cancer. πŸ’•

🎁 Our Prize Winners

One of the highlights of the day was seeing everyone getting involved and, of course, finding out who had won some of our amazing prizes! A huge congratulations to all of our lucky winners! πŸŽ‰

Why is breast cancer awareness so important?

Breast cancer is something that affects so many families. In fact, it is the most common type of cancer in women in the UK, although anyone can develop breast cancer.

There is also some really encouraging progress. Improvements in research, diagnosis and treatment have helped more people survive breast cancer, and breast cancer mortality rates in the UK are projected to continue falling.

But awareness still matters.

Knowing what is normal for your own body can make it easier to notice changes. The NHS recommends being familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel. Changes to look out for can include a new lump or swelling in the breast or armpit, changes in the size or shape of the breast, dimpling or changes to the skin, nipple changes or unusual nipple discharge.

It is important to remember that these changes do not necessarily mean someone has breast cancer, but any unusual change should be checked with a GP.

Did you know?

One interesting thing many people may not realise is that breast cancer can affect men too. Although it is much less common, men can also develop breast cancer and may notice symptoms such as a lump or swelling in the chest or armpit, changes to the nipple or nipple discharge.

Breast screening is another important part of early detection. In England, women registered with a GP are invited for NHS breast screening from around the age of 50, with invitations continuing every three years until their 71st birthday. Women aged 71 and over can also self-refer for screening.

Early detection can make a real difference, which is why conversations about breast cancer and awareness are so important.

A day we won’t forget πŸ’•

We had some amazing prizes, plenty of laughs and such a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day. It was lovely seeing everyone getting involved, supporting one another and enjoying themselves.

Days like this remind us that fundraising is about more than simply collecting donations. It is about bringing people together, starting conversations and showing support to those who have been affected by breast cancer.

At Fuchsia Homecare, we are incredibly proud that we could bring everyone together for a cause that means so much to so many people.

Thank you from all of us at Fuchsia Homecare πŸ’—

To everyone who donated, attended, helped organise the day, donated a prize or simply stopped by to show their support thank you.

Your kindness and generosity helped make our Breast Cancer Fundraiser such a success, and we are so grateful to everyone who played a part.

Most of all, we hope our little day of pink helped spread a bit more awareness while giving everyone plenty of reasons to smile. πŸŽ€πŸ’•
